Steinway Piano Gallery Long Island NY, Celebrates Grand Opening

Steinway & Sons is proud to announce a special appearance of The 5 Browns—classical music’s hottest phenomenon—at the new Steinway & Sons Piano Gallery, Long Island. On February 18 at 7:00 p.m., The 5 Browns will perform several selections to celebrate the release of their first book, Life Between the Keys. The performance will be followed by a Q&A session and a book and CD signing made possible through Barnes & Noble Booksellers.

The 5 Browns are sibling Steinway artists, all in their twenties, who are conquering the worldwide classical music scene with sold-out performances. Dubbed the “Fab Five” by People magazine, Ryan, Melody, Gregory, Deondra, and Desirae Brown attended Juilliard simultaneously, have released three #1 albums, spent months at the top of the Billboard Classical chart, appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and continue to wow audiences worldwide. The siblings have just completed a tour of China and are now appearing throughout the United States to support their new book and CD publication.

“All pianos other than Steinway are like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re going to get,” said The 5 Browns. “Because of Steinway’s beautiful consistency and quality, we are able to have five pianos that sound as one.”

The 5 Browns are exclusive Steinway artists, and they travel with two Steinway D and three Steinway B concert grands, with the help of a dedicated truck provided by Wheaton Van Lines.

“The 5 Browns are a testimony to the fact that piano music need not be staid or austere,” said Todd Sanders, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Steinway & Sons. “They are innovative and accomplished artists, who are not afraid to push the boundaries of classical music to win over new audiences. We are proud that Steinway is their instrument of choice. Our collaboration is truly exciting.”

The Steinway Long Island Piano Gallery is Steinway & Sons’ newest retail location. In addition to this special performance by The 5 Browns, the gallery will host several special Grand Opening events March 5–8, 2009. The gallery is located at 505 Walt Whitman Road in Melville.
