Steinway Showcases Topaz and Malachite at Music China(12/31/2008)
Shanghai, China December 31, 2008 — Steinway & Sons, makers of the finest pianos in the world, participated in the Music China, Asia‘s largest international music show, on October 9-12, 2008. At the event, Steinway showcased not only its signature Boston and Essex brand pianos, but also the rare Topaz and Malachite pianos from the Steinway Crown Jewel collection.
All the pianos in the Crown Jewel collection use choice timber, cut from the same tree, for a unique luster and texture in their facing wood. The pianos also feature an artistic outer casing. The Topaz is hand-crafted from choice mahogany, lending an extraordinary splendor and sense of warmth to this classic upright model. The Malachite Grand, a centerpiece of the Crown Jewel Collection, is made of highest-quality amber and features show-stopping glittering stripes and flecks. Both models are renowned for their value, not just as exquisite musical instruments crafted by the finest piano makers in the world, but also as one-of-a-kind works of art.
As an exhibitor for four years, Steinway recognizes Music China as a valuable opportunity for international exposure. ”Music China gives us the chance to meet perspective dealer representatives throughout China and people we‘ve seen in the past who are more interested in the Steinway family of products as the market continues to grow in terms of wealth,” said John A. Patton, General Manager, Steinway Piano (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. “More cities are interested now in carrying our product, so Music China gives us a good forum to meet with them.”
