On the waterfront

Residents of Azure at Bonita Bay enjoy the finest amenities, including a Boston grand piano.

People who live in luxury condominiums expect the best. First-class amenities. First-class everything, as long as it complements their lifestyle. That’s why The Lutgert Companies selected Steinway-designed pianos for clubrooms in two of its high-end properties at Bonita Bay in Bonita Springs, Fla.

Marc-Michaels Interior Design, one of the country’s most respected interior design firms, was retained to design and furnish the common areas of Azure at Bonita Bay and Esperia at Bonita Bay – two properties where condominium prices range from $816,000 to $2.5 million.

The interior designers felt that pianos would be the perfect accoutrement for clubrooms at both communities.

Specifically, Steinway-designed pianos.

Lutgert’s project manager Eeviann Wirgin turned to Steinway Piano Gallery of Naples, the exclusive dealer for the family of Steinway-designed pianos in Lee and Collier counties on Florida’s southwest coast. Based on the large size of the clubrooms, the décor and how the pianos were expected to be used, dealer Greg Billings recommended 5-foot-10-inch Boston grand pianos (GP-178) in polished ebony, equipped with Pianomation player systems.

“We chose Steinway-designed instruments for name recognition, features, local representation and pricing,” says Ms. Wirgin. The player system includes ceiling-mounted speakers as part of the state-of-the-art HDTV video and surround-sound stereo systems.

The Lutgert Companies, acknowledged as one of southwest Florida’s pre-eminent real estate developers, is building eight luxury high-rise buildings at Bonita Bay. Azure is 26 stories tall with 69 tower homes and eight carriage homes, while Esperia features 119 residences in 27 stories. Both buildings provide views of Estero Bay, Bonita Beach, the Gulf of Mexico as well as Bonita Bay – a master-planned golf course community.

“The Steinway-designed Boston pianos add a stylish touch to the clubrooms,”

Ms. Wirgin says, noting that both designer-furnished areas also feature bars and catering kitchens. And for special events, such as the grand opening celebration for Esperia South, Lutgert has professional pianists on hand to entertain.

“The live music provides a wonderful ambience,” she adds.

These high-rise condominiums provide electronic-controlled access, staffed lobbies and managers in residence, allowing residents to lock up and travel worry-free. But when they’re in-residence, Ms. Wirgin says, owners enjoy showing off their Boston grand pianos to visiting family and friends.

“The pianos are beautiful,” she says, “and have been very well-received by people who truly appreciate the fine things in life.”
