1999 Steinway MODEL L
About This Piano
Steinway first offered the Model L in 1923 with a redesigned case, cast-iron plate, and scale similar to the Model O. The Living Room grand was popular in the home, in smaller recital spaces, and as a practice instrument in music conservatories and schools. Production of the Model L ceased in 2005 with the reintroduction of the Steinway Model O.
If properly maintained, a Steinway will last for many decades and provide musical enjoyment to multiple owners. Some older pianos can have wonderful musical and aesthetic character and be an excellent value for a discerning buyer. Make certain you deal only with an authorized Steinway dealer and insist on a guarantee that your instrument is comprised solely of Steinway parts.
