Model B
This wonderfully elegant piano honors the 100th anniversary of legendary Steinway artist Duke Ellington. Named after Ellington's composition Satin Doll, the piano has tapered, fluted legs which flow into the magnificent shell fans on each side of the case. The glamorous feel of Satin is completed with its shell outline and a finish of pearlescent white with a touch of pink.

Mary Vickers was born in London in 1940, and moved to New York in 1960, where she began painting. Her first models were her children and friends, but from there she began to create her unique mixed media graphics depicting glamorous life-styles. She combines lithography, silk screens and etching into her designs.
One of her creations is a painting that features an exquisite white piano with seashell designs fanning out from the piano's legs. With this beautiful painting and the genius of Duke Ellington as his inspiration, noted furniture designer Terry Hunt refined the concept and executed the design of custom components.
