Music Teach Affiliate Terms & Conditions

Membership

Membership is a privilege and is not transferable. Steinway & Sons reserves the right to terminate the Music Teacher Affiliate Program or any membership at any time, in its sole discretion and without notice. Membership in the Music Teacher Affiliate program may only be used by Music Teacher Affiliate members to refer consumer piano sales prospects in such member’s designated, non-exclusive territory to the Steinway & Sons District Sales Manager. The Music Teacher Affiliate Program is for consumer sales only, no institutional leads qualify without advanced written permission from Steinway, Inc. Affiliates agrees to make themselves available for a visit from a Steinway representative upon request and reasonable notification.

Misuse of membership will result in membership termination. Misuse includes, without limitation: unauthorized use of Steinway trademarks or proprietary information; false or disparaging representations concerning Steinway & Sons products or services; transfer of membership; submitting referrals outside of designated territory; false, expired, or misleading information in connection with a membership application or client referral.

Product Training

All Teacher Affiliates are required to attend a one day Doretta Steinway University, regularly scheduled at the Steinway Factory in New York, or will attend a regional one day training session in a location that is conveniently accessible. Affiliates must cover their own airfare and hotel stay, Steinway will cover the costs for training materials.

Referred Clients

Referred Clients are eligible for the same benefits and product warranty as any other Steinway & Sons client with the full support and backing of Steinway & Sons, which includes product preparation and local delivery. All purchases by the Referred Client shall be at the then-current retail prices in effect. A referred client who is already in Steinway’s database or that of an authorized dealer is not eligible for an Affiliate Referral Payment.

Affiliate Referral Payment

Any consumer client of a member who has not been referred by another member and who, subject to the terms and conditions hereof, makes a purchase within the member’s selling area is a Referred Client. Music Teacher Affiliate members shall receive a Member Payment equal to 15% of the amount of the purchase, net of taxes or ancillary charges. If the total of all the member’s Referred Client purchases exceeds $100,000 annually (year to be measured annually from membership start date), the Member Payment shall increase to 20% for the amount in excess of $100,000, net of taxes or ancillary charges.

The Member Payment shall not be due unless the products purchased have been delivered, accepted, and paid for by the Referred Client. Steinway shall pay the Referral Payment to the member by the 15th of the month following delivery and payment, subject to adjustments for cancelled orders or product returns.

Membership Program Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions set forth the terms and conditions of membership in the Music Teacher Affiliate Membership Program. Steinway & Sons may change the Music Teacher Affiliate Program or these Terms & Conditions from time to time, without notice. Steinway & Sons will post changes to the Music Teacher Affiliate Program at www.steinway.com/mtaffiliate. Any changed Terms & Conditions become effective immediately upon being posted and your continued use of the membership constitutes your agreement to the then current Terms & Conditions.

Steinway & Sons reserves the right to make all membership determinations at its sole discretion. Each music teacher must individually apply for membership. No company-wide or group memberships will be granted. There may be multiple affiliates in a given market.

Employees of Steinway & Sons, its parent or affiliates and employees of Authorized Steinway Dealerships are not eligible to participate in the Music Teacher Affiliate Program.
