Xia JIANG, Pianist. As a recitalist, he has been the recipient of numerous awards. Including the Grand Prix, and awarded one Steinway piano in the Music Teachers National Association Piano Competition in USA, the first prize in the “BIMFA On The Road” Internaiontal Music Festival Concerto Competition, the prize-winner in the Ettlingen International Piano Competition, and the Asian Youth Music Competition for Pianists.
Xia has performed in numerous festivals including the Beijing International Music Festival, the International Conservatories Festival in St. Petersburg, and the Shanghai International Piano Festival & Institute. His performance brought him to the major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, St. Petersburg, Stuttgart, New York, Washington D.C., Chicagao, Rochester, Singapore, and Tokyo. He has collaborated with numerous orchestras and has collaborated with conductors Liang ZHANG, Victor Yampolsky, Wing-sip Yip, among others. Concerto performances include appearances with Shanghai Symphony, Shanghai Philharmonic, Guangzhou Symphony, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony, NU Symphony and the Eastman Philharmonic.
Born in China, Xia entered the Middle School Affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music at the age of nine. Following graduation, he completed his Bachelor's Degree at Shanghai Conservatory of Music as a student of Zhe TANG where he awarded "Chen-xian Fu" Scholarship, and his Master’s dgree at Eastman School of Music as a student of Barry Snyder in USA. After then, Xia continued his studies for the DMA degree at Northwestern University School of Music as a student of Alan Chow where he recieved the full scholarship.
In 2017, Mr. JIANG became one of the youngest piano faculty in the Central Conservatory of Music Gulangyu Piano Academy in China. As an recipient of “Award for Excellence in Teaching” by the government and school, many of his students have won top prizes at national and international competitions.
