The singular pianist Simon Mulligan begins a survey of Percy Grainger’s complete piano music on the Steinway & Sons label. This first volume includes heartfelt performances of Grainger’s most beloved melodies and folksong settings.
Composer, arranger and pianist Percy Grainger was born in Australia and lived much of his life in America, though his music captured images of British culture and folk music. Simon Mulligan begins his complete survey of Grainger's solo piano music with popular works such as Handel in the Strand, Country Gardens, and Molly on the Shore.
Simon Mulligan’s performances “run the gamut from sparkly virtuosity to expansive lyricism.”
