Steinway Spirio comes to China

Steinway & Sons Spirio, the world’s finest high resolution player piano, was officially introduced in China on May 27 with a gala dinner at the Shenzhen Concert Hall. With over 145 guests in attendance, Steinway Artist Lang Lang mesmerized the audience with his performance and then spoke passionately about Spirio. 

“I’m marveled at this innovation,” says Lang Lang. “It’s a major leap — a milestone. With their traditional superb craftsmanship, Steinway has integrated new technology.

“But it’s not only the technology, it’s the psychology as well,” continues Lang Lang, who has already recorded five pieces for Spirio. “How is it that the piano can play just like an artist? And it’s not just that the keys move, it handles every tone like an artist’s live performance. [Now] buying piano doesn’t have to include waiting for a pianist to play it at home.” 

“You can even hear live performances by Horowitz, Rubinstein — as well as contemporary pianists,” says Lang Lang. “I hope you will also fall in love with Spirio.
