Open Positions:

Institutional Sales Manager (Long Island City, NY)

The Institutional Sales Manager will have responsibilities associated with the Institutional Sales Department and the Steinway Selection Room based at the Steinway factory, and will report to both the Director of Institutional Sales and the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

This person must possess 10 years post-college work experience, a pleasant and engaging personality, excellent communication and organizational skills, a desire to help the customer, and a degree in business or accounting with strong Excel and analytical backgrounds.

The primary responsibility of the Institutional Sales Manager will be to gather data, organize, analyze, develop and produce institutional sales forecasts and reports. This person will also schedule, host and facilitate selections at the Steinway Selection Room including:

  • Conduct factory tours for selectors, VIPs and potential donors
  • Assist the customer/dealer with travel plans, i.e. hotel information, car service pick-up at airport, concert and theatre tickets, etc.
  • Organize and set up lunch either at the Steinway factory or outside restaurant. If outside restaurant, organize transportation back and forth
  • Coordinate selection room follow-up
  • Serve as follow-up contact if customer has a concern after the selection

The Institutional Sales Manager must have a willingness to conduct tours of the Steinway factory and Steinway Hall, develop a good working knowledge of the history of Steinway & Sons, and, on occasion, assist with evening concerts and special events for All-Steinway Schools at Steinway Hall.

Salary range of $70,000-78,000 depending upon experience.

Web Developer (New York, NY)

Develop and maintain company websites and web applications.
Expertise in hand coding (X)HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Proficient with LAMP stack development and Git/SVN.
Familiarity with XML, XSLT, AJAX/JQuery is desirable.

Typical duties:

  • Produce interfaces using (X)HTML/CSS from Photoshop screen designs.
  • Develop and maintain PHP applications/components to support business needs.
  • Configure, manage, and support hosted services (MySQL, SVN, DNS, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of current web standards, cross-browser issues, and development best practices.
  • Expert front-end developer ((X)HTML, CSS, etc.)
  • Experience with CodeIgniter or Symphony2 PHP framework
  • Experience with XML/XSLT a plus
  • Experience with Google Analytics
