“Der Lindenbaum”
Summertime Jazz is a new section on Spirio that features some of our favorite playlists for the season, including Summer Swing, Jazz Brunch, Jazz in the Background, Mellow Jazz and Latin Jazz as well as new playlists like Steinway After Dark.
And we are pleased to expand the Chopin catalog on Spirio this month with the complete Scherzos performed by Antonio Pompa-Baldi. Though usually featured as a lively, dance-like movement within a larger work, the Scherzos of Chopin are stand-alone pieces, full of energy, and highly virtuosic.
Our SpirioSync video this month features Drew Petersen performing Liszt’s setting of “Der Lindenbaum,” a song from Schubert’s epic “Winterreise.”

Spiriocasts
If you have access to Spiriocast, plan to tune in on July 17 to see one of the great pianists of our time, Richard Goode, performing in an archived performance from Steinway Hall in New York. This program will available for a limited time in our On Demand Spiriocast section after the premiere. Also this month on Spiriocast you can see Steve Barakatt, renowned Canadian composer of official anthems including the UNICEF “Lullaby,” performing from Shanghai. Also from Shanghai, we will be featuring Young Steinway Artist Kang Liu.
