New Steinway Designed Pianos For Brooklyn Technical High School

Booklyn Technical High School was one of the first schools to respond to the Steinway & Sons K–12 program launch in September. A meeting and inventory evaluation was scheduled with Assistant Principal Jennifer Sullivan and the orchestra teacher Geraldine Lapierre by Steinway representative Karen Beluso for October 19, 2015. Karen suggested a tour of the Steinway factory for the music faculty and the assistant principal take place November 3 prior to the presentation on November 5.  While on the tour they found that Steinway foreman Jimmy Argenziano is a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School — and he joined the tour group in the rim department.

An order for two Steinway–designed pianos, one Boston GP-215 grand and one Boston UP-118E upright, was received November 23 with delivery of the pianos December 17, 2015. We are pleased to welcome Brooklyn Technical High School to the Steinway family.

Brooklyn Technical High School was founded  in 1922 based on the vision and dream of founding Principal Dr. Albert Colston. Since its inception, Brooklyn Tech has provided a significant part of the solution to the national shortage of trained problem solvers, aspiring engineers, and applied scientists. Now more than 90 years later, Brooklyn Technical High School continues to fulfill their mission and sustain the legacy of excellence created by Tech students through the decades.
