RESTORATION OF A HISTORIC MASTERPIECE
Steinway serial #200,000 joins the ranks of celebrated pianos that mark manufacturing milestones for the world’s most famous piano-maker. Like its siblings #100,000 (the original White House piano, now in the Smithsonian Institution) and #300,000 (the current White House Steinway) #200,000 is an undisputed piece of American history.
This unique, bespoke piano bears a provenance like no other piano ever conceived. It was built in 1920 and originally shipped to Steinway & Sons of Cincinnati, Ohio. A stunning New York Model B Chippendale grand in Mahogany, the piano was reacquired by Steinway in 2017 and meticulously restored in the same New York factory where it was built. A century after its birth, this historic masterpiece is in like-new condition and available for sale.
