Steinway's First Flagship Store in the Asia Pacific Has Landed.

The grand opening of Steinway Hall Beijing welcomed the first flagship store of Asia Pacific of Steinway & Sons. This new music hall is a perfect mixture of Steinway’s classic heritage and innovative music technology and is set to become a unique artistic setting in China’s capital, catering toward musicians and music lovers.

The launch of Steinway’s first APAC Flagship Store in Beijing is a significant symbol of Steinway’s expansion into the Chinese market and highlights Steinway’s pioneer status in the music industry. It is not only a retail store but a showroom of Steinway and family pianos, including Boston, Lang Lang Pianos and Essex instruments.   

Steinway Hall Beijing will become a musical gallery where we can bring Steinway’s most important innovative products and artistic movements to its music lovers and provide them with an extraordinary musical experience.”

The Horowitz Recital Hall is located on the 2nd floor of the building and can accommodate more than 100 spectators, enabling concert hosting and master classes given by artists, musicians, and music educators. The basement boasts piano halls for professional acoustics ands a recording studio for artists to record for Steinway SPIRIO. Steinway Hall Beijing will also provide world-class piano technical services by Steinway technicians.

The event grandly unveiled Steinway’s three most outstanding works of art: an art-case Steinway & Sons grand (“Pictures at an Exhibition” by artist Paul Wyse), the Fibonacci SPIRIO, and a special Steinway commemorating the 35 years of collaboration between Steinway & Sons and the Central Conservatory of Music.

Steinway specially invited famous piano educator Ms. Mao Weihui for a solo performance. Charl Duplessis, Steinway Artist and the most celebrated pianist in South Africa, performed two jazz compositions as well.
