The Steinway & Sons Podcast
Anne-Sophie Mutter
One of the world’s great classical violinists, Anne-Sophie Mutter established the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation in 2008 to support promising young musicians worldwide. Since the pandemic outbreak, Mutter has been advocating for Germany’s freelance musicians. She joins Soundboard producer/host Ben Finane, Editor in Chief at Steinway’s award-winning online music magazine listenmusicculture.com, to discuss arts advocacy, Beethoven, John Williams, and her process behind learning new music.
‘My role is, once the score arrives, to tear my hair out, get into a terrible panic and depression — and then start to work.’
