This month we continue a seasonal theme focusing on classical and pop music.

First, we feature our latest set from Canadian virtuoso Stewart Goodyear, who performs Bach’s Goldberg Variations. This iconic work, so popular with pianists in recent years, seems to have a never-ending appeal. Spend some of your summertime with Bach’s brilliant set of variations in a wonderfully polished performance. Less familiar may be the works of Antonio Soler, a Spanish composer of the late Baroque. His delightful sonatas are celebrated in a new album (Soler!) from Gerardo Teissonnière released on the Steinway Label this month, also recorded for Spirio.  And our new Summertime Baroque playlist is a bright and sunny accompaniment to a favorite time of the year.

The new Summertime pop section on Spirio brings together our many summer-themed pop playlists in one place. Along with Yacht Rock, Summer Soul, Pop Shuffles and more, we have added a new, mostly upbeat, playlist called Midsummer pop. And our SpirioSync video this month features David Osborne playing “Right Here Waiting”.

Also on the Steinway Label this month is the album debut of the excellent young pianist, Zhu Wang. Selections from the project were recorded especially for Spirio owners, including a sync video of excerpts from Schumann’s Humoreske and Percy Grainger’s “ramble” on the love duet from Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier.
